The Utah Biomedical Engineering Conference (UBEC) started in 2005 after a conversation between Drs. Rick Rabbitt and Patrick Tresco, Department Chair and Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, respectively at the time. They wanted to bring together the biomedical community across the Mountain West to present their latest findings, network with peers, discuss new ideas, and develop new collaborations to facilitate knowledge exchange and professional development. Its structure and organization have changed over its 20-year history (it is now student-run!), but the fundamental goal remains the same: to celebrate the fantastic biomedical research performed in and around Utah while providing a platform for building connections, learning, and honing skills.
We believe that anyone with a stake in medicine, biotech, or biomedical engineering will benefit by participating. Come learn and celebrate with us!
