We are pleased to announce that the 2019 keynote speaker is Dr. James Kennedy, an alum of the U of U bioengineering department!
Dr. Kennedy is medical device development expert. He graduated with a BS and PhD from the University of Utah with an emphasis on biomaterials and bioengineering. He has 13 years experience developing disposable medical devices including devices aimed treating head lice, diagnostics for rapid identification of contagious pathogens, and device to protect against catheter related blood-stream infections. For the last 7 years, he has focused on developing dialyzers and membranes that provide better patient outcomes by improving blood-dialyzer interactions. Dr. Kennedy currently leads the new product development group in the Dialyzer and Membrane division for Fresenius Medical care. He lives in Sankt Wendel, Germany.
